Colombian Police Arrest 185 Suspects for Child Sexual Exploitation

The Colombian Police reported that over the past month, 13 operations in 11 departments led to the arrest of 185 individuals engaged in crimes related to the transmission, storage, and production of images and videos depicting sexual abuse of children and adolescents.

The operations were conducted by the Criminal Investigation and INTERPOL Directorate (DIJIN), in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office and with support from the United States Homeland Security Investigations Office (HSI).

According to authorities, the operations resulted in the arrest of 185 individuals, including 146 under judicial orders and 39 caught in the act. Offenses included sexual acts with children under 14, abusive carnal access with children under 14, child pornography, commercial sexual exploitation of minors, solicitation of prostitution from minors, violent sexual assault, or sexual acts with individuals unable to resist.

The arrests took place in 46 municipalities and cities, with a higher concentration in Bogota and Medellin, followed by Valle del Cauca, Cartagena, Cali, and various municipalities in Antioquia. Over 3,292 files of images and videos containing child sexual abuse content were seized during the operations, along with mass storage devices such as hard drives, USB drives, smartphones, and computers, all of which were analyzed by forensic experts and investigators at the Child Cybercrime Forensic Laboratory “Yuliana Samboni.”

Colonel Edwin Masleider Urrego Pedraza, director of DIJIN, highlighted 5 arrests made during 3 raids against alleged sexual predators. Among the captured individuals, “Davo,” aged 41, was apprehended in La Estrella, Antioquia. Investigators located him after two reports filed by the United States National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), with crucial image evidence identifying him as the owner of a microenterprise that organized so-called “children’s parties”. More than 226 images and videos, including one where the suspect is abusing a girl, were found.

Additionally, “Jesusito,” aged 58, was arrested in Cartagena, Bolivar. He allegedly shared over 54 videos and photographs obtained from various digital pedophile communities. “Jeyboxing” an influencer and photographer reported by Google for storing videos of child sexual abuse on his devices was apprehended in Villavicencio. “El Fetichista 22” was captured in Bogota, operating over seven fake profiles on social media to attract children. Lastly, “Hunter” was arrested in Cajica. The individual had over 28 international alerts for distributing child sexual abuse content online and allegedly posted more than 2,620 images and videos of such a nature.
