Colombian forward Linda Caicedo has made history by extending her contract with Real Madrid until June 30, 2031, becoming the Colombian player with the most years linked to the Spanish club. The announcement, made on Nov. 24, 2025, marks a milestone in her career and in Colombian women’s football, as it secures seven more seasons in one of the most important teams in the world.

Caicedo, who joined the club in 2023 at just 18 years old, has become a key pillar of Real Madrid’s women’s project. Her performance and international projection have turned her into one of the most respected figures in global football.

A Colombian star, Linda Caicedo becomes one of the highest-paid female footballers in the world

The renewal not only ensures her permanence until 2031 but also comes with a historic salary increase. Several Spanish and Colombian media outlets confirm that Caicedo has now joined the group of the highest-paid female footballers worldwide.

Although the exact figures have not been disclosed, it is estimated that she now earns a salary significantly higher than the Liga F average, placing her on the same level as international stars such as Chelsea’s Mayra Ramirez, also a Colombian footballer.

Despite this major advancement, a gap with men’s football remains. Colombian male players such as Jhon Duran at Fenerbahçe earn around 10 million euros per year — far above what any female footballer receives. Even so, Caicedo’s salary upgrade reflects the rapid growth of women’s football and the global impact of her presence in the sport.

Linda Caicedo’s career

Caicedo’s story is that of a prodigious talent who conquered the world. She made her professional debut with America de Cali at just 14 years old, becoming one of the youngest players ever to do so. After shining with the scarlet team, she moved to Deportivo Cali, where she further established herself as one of the top figures in Colombian women’s football.

Her journey with the Colombian national team has also been meteoric. She debuted with the senior team in 2019 and played in every youth category, standing out in the U-17 and U-20 World Cups. She was a key figure in the 2022 Copa America Femenina, where Colombia finished as runner-up, and in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, where her goal against Germany was chosen as the best of the entire tournament.

Since joining Real Madrid in 2023, Caicedo has played 99 matches and scored 26 goals: 16 in the league, five in the cup, and five in international competitions. Her outstanding performance has earned her multiple awards, including the Golden Girl 2023, inclusion in the FIFPro Women’s World11 2024, and second place in The Best 2023.

Today, at only 20 years old, Caicedo is shaping up to become a legend in the making — an essential piece of Real Madrid and a symbol of Colombian women’s football.
