Pique Breaks His Silence on Shakira

In an insightful interview with the Catalan radio station RAC1, former Spanish footballer Gerard Pique has finally chosen to break his silence on the tumultuous separation from renowned Colombian singer Shakira, marking one year since their announcement of parting ways. From his retirement from the football field to media headlines about their breakup, Piqué shared details about a phase of his life that has been under public scrutiny.

Pique’s statements on his personal life

The defender, recognized for both his football successes and romantic relationships, addressed the complexity of his split with Shakira on the Spanish program “El mon a RAC1 ” with Jordi Baste. When asked about his recent relationship with Clara Chia and the conclusion of his connection with the Colombian artist, Pique said, “Everything has slipped away from me. But it’s very healthy: it’s going very well. Doing all the time what you believe is best for me and my environment. It’s important to know what they say, but not to give it importance. It’s important not to live with your back to what happens but to give it zero importance.”

The former player also discussed the adversities he has faced in the past year, emphasizing that there have been individuals trying to harm him by spreading lies. Pique revealed his resilient approach to such challenges: “When they appear, I’ve reached the point where they are invisible to me. They seek to affect you, do harm, and when they see that they can’t… If I had given it importance, I would have jumped from a sixth floor. People don’t know even ten percent of what happened and all I’ve lived through. But it’s something private. People don’t know how I am; it’s part of the circus.”

This testimony comes almost four months after Shakira, in an interview with ELLE Spain, publicly spoke about the separation, sharing her own reflections on the end of over 12 years of a relationship with Piqué, with whom she has two children.
