Colombian cyclist Egan Bernal holds the fifth position among the highest-paid cyclists in the world. At just 26 years old, this rider from Zipaquira has left an indelible mark on the history of Latin American cycling.

His impressive victories in the Tour de France in 2019 and the Giro d’Italia in 2021 have propelled him to worldwide recognition. However, recent times haven’t been easy for the cyclist due to setbacks that kept him away from competitions for months.

In the Top 5 Highest-Paid

Determining the exact income figures of elite cyclists is often a challenge. Nevertheless, recent information has revealed that Egan Bernal ranks among the top 5 highest-paid cyclists worldwide.

With an annual salary of 2.8 million euros, Bernal holds the fifth position on this exclusive list. However, this ranking could change in the coming months with the emergence of other talented cyclists such as Remco Evenepoel, Wout Van Aert, and Jonas Vingegaard.

A Rising Champion

Despite the adversities which prevented him reaching the outstanding level that characterized his performance in 2019, when he conquered the iconic Grande Boucle, Bernal has been tirelessly working on his recovery. His team, the INEOS Grenadiers, fully expects his soon return to the elite ranks of cycling.
