In Colombia, some beaches look like they belong in a fairytale and are must-visit destinations. Indeed, the country is stacked with beautiful and dream-like destinations that make for a perfect vacation. Thanks to its location near the equator, and not having seasons, Colombia possesses some of the world’s most remarkable and unique landscapes. In Colombia, you can find beautiful beaches, enormous mountains, colorful lakes, and deep jungles.

Some of the preferred locations for tourists are Colombia’s big beaches, which are located on the Caribbean and the Pacific coasts. These locations allow tourists to enjoy luxury relaxation whilst also providing a unique cultural experience. This is because locals on the coasts of Colombia are known for their hospitality and remarkable gastronomic and culinary scene.

Given the diversity of the country’s natural resources and its sheer size, there are many locations to choose from. However, not all of them come close to these five beaches.

Five amazing beaches in Colombia

Cabo de la Vela is one of Colombia’s most magical locations. This is a beach where the desert and the sea meet. It is also the northernmost point in the country, making access to the beach quite challenging. But this also adds to this location’s paradisiacal nature and makes it one of the beaches that any tourist would love to visit in Colombia. Its remoteness makes it an almost undisturbed environment. The two main beaches to visit in this location are Playa Arcoiris (Rainbow Beach) and Cabo de la Vela Beach.

Nuqui is one of Colombia’s most popular beaches. The beach is located in the Choco region on Colombia’s Pacific coast. This beach is filled with color, given that it is surrounded by nature. Another must-visit destination is Nenguaje Beach, which is located in the Tayrona National Park. It has established itself as one of the more remote beaches inside the park and is not as filled with tourists. This is because the walk there is very long, and not many are up for the challenge. Tourists here can relax, camp, and reconnect with nature.

Close to Cartagena, another remarkable destination awaits. The archipelago of the Rosary Islands is a place that stuns tourists thanks to its majestic nature. Crystal-clear waters surround 23 islands, and depending on the time of day and the sun’s position, sometimes it looks like the water is purple. Mayapo Beach is yet another must-visit, paradise-like destination. Two beaches, Bahia Honda and Bahia Hondita, contribute to the booming tourism industry in the La Guajira Region.
