The testimony of one of the Colombian minors involved in the alleged case of child sexual exploitation in a hotel in Medellin has surfaced. The girl confessed during a forensic interview that the American did engage in sexual relations with her, days or hours before being apprehended in the operation carried out on Thursday, March 28.

In the operation conducted in the capital of Antioquia, American citizen Timothy Alan Livingston was found with two girls, aged 12 and 13, in the jacuzzi of an apartment at the Gotham Hotel in the ‘El Poblado’ neighborhood of Medellin, Colombia. The suspect was detained for 12 hours and then released, allowing him to return on a commercial flight to the United States on March 29th.

Until a few days ago, it was unknown if the foreigner had abused the girls, but on April 8th, according to exclusive information from the newspaper Alerta Paisa and also shared by the news program Noticias Caracol, it was reported that in the testimony of one of the minors, she confirmed the sexual encounter with the American. This revelation, according to the media’s investigation, apparently led the supervisory judge to issue an arrest warrant against Livingston.

Another detail that emerged is that the police stated to the Attorney General’s Office that during the procedure they did not find condoms at the site. The authorities asserted that the girls were in their bathing suits near one of the bathtubs while the American was in another room, suggesting that there was no sexual abuse that night.

New details on Colombian child exploitation case

The prestigious tourist accommodation Hotel Gotham, located in an exclusive area of Medellin, announced its definitive closure on Sunday, April 7th, after being at the center of a child sexual exploitation scandal involving the 36-year-old American citizen. The drastic measure was prompted by a tidal wave of public criticism spearheaded by Medellin’s Mayor, Federico Gutierrez, inflicting significant damage on the establishment’s reputation, as outlined in the hotel’s official statement.

Among other details of the case, it is noteworthy that after the two minors were taken to the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF), one of them left the place. Therefore, the institute is taking all necessary actions with the police and with her family to facilitate her reintegration. Additionally, on April 9th, it was learned that the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), in coordination with the Colombian National Police, issued a Blue Notice for Timothy Alan Livingston, indicating that the organization is currently gathering information to locate the accused.
